Philip de László - Exposition de 9 portraits à la National Portrait Gallery de Londres jusqu'au 5 septembre 2010

Philip de László, a Special Display
27 March - 5 September 2010, National Portrait Gallery, London

We are delighted to announce that a display of nine of de László’s finest portraits (including the famous portrait of Her Late Majesty The Queen Mother, featured above) will be on show at the National Portrait Gallery for six months. This will coincide with the completion of the indexing of the de László Archive (more than 15,000 letters, in seven different languages, which are now in the Heinz Archive and Library). It has taken some 5 years for the catalogue raisonné team worldwide to index them over the internet from scanned facsimiles.
For a web-resource about the de László Archive that includes details of the collection, provides links to other sources of information and features a selection of correspondence relating to portraits in the National Portrait Gallery’s collection, click here

A 32-page booklet will accompany the display.

The de Laszlo Archive Trust was set up to research, catalogue and administer the paintings and archive of Philip Alexius de László. This is the first time an authoritative assessment of Philip de László’s output has been made available online and I hope it proves to be a useful and accessible resource for all those interested in the artist. We anticipate that this website will evolve into a full record of de László’s life and work.

Director and Executive Editor, de László Catalogue Raisonné
Chairman of the Trust
