Handed out at the end of the Hungarian Motion Picture Festival, the Hungarian Motion Picture Awards, bestowed upon the best Hungarian productions of the past year, have crowned Wild Roots [+] their winner. This first feature film by Hajni Kis walked away with the title of Best Hungarian Film, as well as scooping Best First Film and Best Screenplay (as penned by the director alongside Fanni Szántó). Produced by Julia Berkes on behalf of Proton Cinema, co-produced by Slovakia’s MPhilms and sold by Germany’s m-appeal, Wild Roots was unveiled last summer in Karlovy Vary’s East of the West competition."
